The system
Three colors. Two weeks. One redesign.
After each task block, mark it with a color. The patterns show up faster than you’d expect.
Green
Focused, engaged, solid output. This is where your best work happens.
Yellow
Got through it, nothing remarkable. Maintenance work fits here.
Red
Drained, mediocre output, needed recovery. Something about this slot isn’t working.
How it works
10 minutes a day for two weeks
Track your task blocks
After each 60–90 minute block, note the task, the time, and the color. One optional note for context. That’s it.
Spot the patterns
By day five, you’ll see which tasks drain you, which energize you, and which ones depend entirely on timing.
Redesign your week
Use the pattern analysis to protect your green zones, cluster the draining work, and fill the dips with maintenance tasks.
